LETTER REOPENS 1983 JO-ANNE PEDERSON MYSTERY

MYSTERY

SHE was last seen in a phonebox outside the Penny Pincher store in Chilliwack BC, trying to call her mother and stepfather.  A man, who had messy or wavy hair, was seen helping Jo-Anne Pederson but then the 10-year-old vanished without trace, never to be seen again.
Despite huge searches, a massive police operation and numerous TV appeals, for 28-years her disappearance has haunted the small Canadian community.
But now RCMP officers are hopeful they might get break, after a mystery letter arrived in their offices, which apperently might hold the key to unlocking the mystery. According to the Vancouver Sun Police believe the writer may have witnessed what happened to Jo-Anne before she disappeared on Feb. 19, 1983.
A source said: "Obviously we don't want to build up our hopes too much, but after so long it's great to finally get a break in the case.
"It's vital however that the person who wrote this letter, contacts us."
In 2008, police appealed to him to come forward, posting this re-enactment of that night You Tube to help jog his memory.
Anyone with information is asked to call Const. Justine Hayward of the Chilliwack RCMP Serious Crime Unit at 604-792-4611 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
