DAD ARRESTED IN 1978 SEX SLAYING OF SHERRI TAYLOR

COLD CASE detectives in Biloxi, Mississippi have made an arrest in the baffling 1978 homicide of a pretty teen girl. Sherri Taylor, 15, was raped and murdered on July 11, 1978. Now, her father William Taylor has been charged with statutory rape as a muddy case gets clearer.
Police say Sherri's father claimed he discovered her body in the bathroom of the trailer they shared when he returned home from work. Det. Michael Brown said: "It was a brutal murder. She had been stabbed several times. The autopsy report shows that she had been sexually assaulted. Semen was
covered all over her body."
Police say those results showed that Sherri was sexually assaulted by her father and he confessed to having sex with the girl but not killing her. SHERRI TAYLOR, MURDERED IN 1978
