MARY RIVERA SENSATION: CHARGES DROPPED

DROPPED
THE ELDERLY fugitive who was busted for killing her husband more than 40 years after he died has had all the charges against her dropped.
As we reported here beck in 1970, Mary Rivera, now 76, was accused of killing her husband by "throwing hot grease on him and by throwing other substances and liquids."
But after posting the $10,000 bond she fled from her Houston home with her three children, including twin sons, and eventually made her way to Lake Park, GA, near the Florida border.
Hiding in plain sight, she appeared to have evaded justice, until late last month, when she was picked up by the Harris County Cold Case team.
A spokesman said at the time: "The defendant was charged with committing a rather brutal murder of her husband.
"Although she was able to elude authorities for over 40 years, she ultimately must face judgment in a court of law for the murder of her husband."

UPDATE: NEW DETAILS EMERGE IN MARY RIVERA CASE

CAUGHT
THE ELDERLY fugitive who was busted for the murder of her husband 41-years after he died, killed him by "pouring hot grease and other liquids" on him, cops say.
As we reported here, the ailing 76-year-old was picked up in her Georgia home, stunning friends and neighbors, who knew her as a mild mannered waitress.
Court records from the 1970 case allege that Rivera was accused of killing her husband by "throwing hot grease on him and by throwing other substances and liquids."
They don't however, indicate a motive, but while neighbors say she told them that her husband had been abusive towards her, authorities said police were never called to the couple's Houston home on allegations of domestic violence.

SHE WAS only four when her beloved sister was raped and murdered. That's 41 years ago now and Virginia Davis is still waiting for justice in the slaying of Donna I. Willing in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on February 26, 1970. Donna went to get some bread from Grebe's Bakery and she never came home.
Virginia told the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel: "I remember my mom saying she had to go before it gets dark. She must have told her four times. I just kept asking her to read one more story." Donna read one last page, then headed from their house near N. 33rd and W. Lloyd streets to Grebe's Bakery a few blocks away. Donna Willing was found less than two hours later, face

CHEERLEADER MARILEE BURT'S 1970 MURDER STILL COLD

IT WAS A bitterly cold winter night, February 26, 1970, when 15-year-old Marilee Ruth Burt finished cheerleading at a basketball game at Goddard Middle School in Arapahoe County, Colorado.  Marilee lived just a short distance away from the school so when her ride home didn’t arrive she chose to walk, rather than wait in the cold evening air. It was a fateful decision – one that would end in her gruesome death. Marilee was last sent talking to someone in a parked vehicle close to her Columbine Valley home. When she didn’t arrive home that night her parents contacted the Arapahoe County Police Department and embarked on a frantic search.
The search would yield no sign of Marilee until the following day when her
